Brûlée Musubi Bakes

What You’ll Need:

Servings: 6

  • 1 can of SPAM

  • 2 cups of cooked rice

  • sushi vinegar

  • japanese mayonnaise

  • sriracha hot sauce

  • unagi or eel sauce

  • brown sugar

  • soy sauce

  • honey

  • sesame oil

  • 4 stalks of green onions (sliced)

  • furikake seasoning

  • seaweed snacks (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Start off by cutting spam into bite sized cubes .

  2. Heat up a large pan on medium-high heat and stir fry spam cubes until golden .

  3. Turn off heat and add in a tbsp of each: soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil . Mix well to combo and coat spam cubes . Remove from pan and set aside .

  4. Season cooked rice with sushi vinegar to taste and mix well . Add about 1/2 cup of rice to each ramekin (or you can make one large musubi bake in a baking dish).

  5. Season the top of the rice with furikake seasoning and a small drizzle of japanese mayo .

  6. Next add a few scoops of seasoned spam, followed by a drizzle of each: japanese mayo, sriracha, and unagi sauce .

  7. Now sprinkle brown sugar on top . You can torch brown sugar or bake musubi ramekins at 350F for about 15 minutes or until brown sugar is crystalized . Garnish with green onions !

  8. Enjoy with seaweed snacks or on its own . ENJOY!
