Crispy Chicken Skins with Garlic Vinegar Dip

Welcome back to another recipe inspired by my recent Hawaii trip. Foodland is one of my fav places to grocery shop while on the island . I recently discovered that they sell fried chicken skin by the pound and they're served with a delicious vinegar dip — you know I had to recreate this masterpiece at home and easily done in the airfrfyer . Hint: it turned out absolutely amazing . Here’s my take— if you try it let me know how you like it and if it compares to Foodland’s lol . I love seeing your foodie photos !

What you’ll need:

  • 8 chicken thighs with skin-on

  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/2 tsp white pepper

  • 1/4 tsp paprika (optional just for color)

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar

  • 2 garlic cloves (finely minced)

  • 2 tsps golden mountain seasoning sauce (or soy sauce)

  • black pepper

  • 1/8 tsp sugar

Instructions:

  1. Start of by gently pulling off skin of each clean chicken thigh— repeat and set skins on a paper towel .

  2. Pat chicken skins with paper towel to remove excess moisture .

  3. Season chicken skins with garlic salt, white pepper, paprika, and onion powder . Massage gently to coat evenly .

  4. Place chicken skins in airfryer rack in one even single layer— airfry at 400F for about 20 minutes or until golden and crisp . Be sure to flip them halfway through cooking time .

  5. While skins are airfrying, make dipping sauce by combining vinegar, minced garlic, seasoning sauce, black pepper, and sugar . Mix well and set to the side .

  6. Transfer cooked chicken skins to a serving dish with dipping sauce on the side and ENJOY !
